Yardville-Groveville is found in the Hamilton Township of Mercer County, New Jersey in the United States. It is a census-designated place measuring an area of 3.44 square miles, with 0.04 square miles of it water. This includes the Gropp Lake Reservoir, along with Back Creek and Doctor's Creek. The highest elevation in Yardville-Groveville is at 100 feet. It had an estimated population of 9,200 as of the 2000 census, with a population density of 2,674 people per square mile. Females make up a slightly larger part of the population at over 51% while the males comprise the other 49%. Though situated in New Jersey itself, it is quite close to the Philadelphia border.
The dominating race in the Yardville-Groveville area is white, with a small percentage of Hispanic or Latin Americans and African Americans and an even smaller sprinkling of Native Americans and Asians. The residents of Yardville-Groveville are composed of mixed ancestral lines, the largest among them Italian, followed subsequently by German, Irish, Polish, English and Hungarian descents. The nearest main city to Yardville-Groveville is Trenton, New Jersey. Other surrounding towns and cities include White Horse, Mercerville-Hamilton Square, Bordentown, Fieldsboro borough, Allentown borough, Morrisville borough and Florence-Roebling. All are in New Jersey, with the exception of Morrisville which is actually already located in Philadelphia.
Though census-designated places in the United States primarily serve for statistical purposes, Yardville-Groveville has its own share of unique attractions and seems to be quite the family place.
